The parable of the talents. Only this morning... does it seem to me that I grasp it deeply now. As I was Awakening when my most valuable insights come.
This parable of spoken to me for as long as I can remember, but only till recently did I think that it was about material things, and it couldn't be that, because God is Spirit.
Only this morning did it seem to fully register that it's about Jesus teachings. Jesus teachings and example.
And what really hit me was the servant that buried the talent in the ground. It's the church. It's christians. They have jesus' words right there in the gospels, but they don't know them, they don't study them, they don't have recall of them, they don't discuss them broadly, they don't try to apply them in their lives, but they don't want to be changed by them, challenge by them, have the risk of failing to grasp and practice them.
So they bury them in their excuses. They bury them in their lies that all I have to do is profess Jesus as my Lord and Savior and I'm saved . All they have to do is believe in jesus, if you believe in your doctor you do what the doctor says, if you believe in your tax accountant, you do what your tax accountant says. Nobody believes in jesus. Especially the christians.
Totally heartbreaking.
There is wailing and gnashing of teeth.
